Tea At the White House

This place is the ultimate girls' day out spot. A nice drive to the lovely town (or is it a village) of Waterdown where you can do a bit of shopping and then a beautiful spread at The White House tearoom. We've been a couple of times and no disappointments. The girls who serve you are lovely and very helpful, the tea menu is well stocked with old favourites like Earl Grey to some you may have never heard of (try the Matcha tea - it comes with the most decadent truffle on the side), and the food is sublime. You may think sandwiches and salads don't sound like much, but the experience is the tops. I quite often have the Gloucester plate because I LOVE cheese, but they have specials on a tiered platter that are gorgeous. Save room for a cream tea - every bit as good as the real thing in the southwest of England. They also have hot entrees and yummy soups. Don't forget to shop in the onsite tea shop and get some scones to go!
